Catalina 27 – Tacking and Gybing

This intermediate course is designed for sailors comfortable with the basics and who want to expand their knowledge and skills on the water. These sessions are designed to build confidence in basic sailing skills with a focus on boat handling and sail performance. You’ll practice your up and downwind sailing skills in various crew position at tacking and gybing on a triangular course with concentration on sail trim and maximizing efficiency under sail with primary and secondary sail controls. The more sessions attended, the greater variety of skills you’ll learn & practice.

Format & Cost – These 2.5 hour courses are offered Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 8:30P twice per month from May – September using our Catalina 27 from Wilmette Harbor. $75.00 per person, per session.

Location – Wilmette Harbor – 20 East Harbor Drive, Wilmette, IL.

In case of unsafe sailing conditions, we’ll reschedule earlier or later within the scheduled week if possible. Minimum of two students per session.
