Learning Options

Sea Safaris Sailing School offers many different learning options and opportunities.  We pride ourselves in accommodating your learning needs to ensure you receive the most effective sailing education.  Sea Safaris maintains an extensive fleet so you can learn without owning a boat and we offer charter opportunities to past students so you can get the practice you need. Already own a boat? No problem! Sea Safaris is happy to teach you on your own vessel.

On The Water Instruction – Class Room training is located on site and on-the-water.  Our Basic Keelboat and “Kid’s for Sail” courses are typically taught on Bangs Lake in Wauconoda.  Our Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Coastal Crusing courses are taught on Lake Michigan from Chicago, Waukegan or Milwaukee.  Our Coastal Navigation and Celestial Navigation courses are taught classroom style during the winter and “On Safaris” during the sailing season.  Course are available in other exciting ports of call – San Juan Islands north of Seattle, Washington or the British Virgin Islands where you can receive instruction while enjoying a rich and beautiful sailing environment.

Custom Instruction – Want to learn or practice your skills with an experienced Captain in a individual setting or perhaps as a family or even on your own boat?  Safaris Sailing School by BE-Nautical can provide a custom schedule and location to suit your needs.

Learning Continuum – Would you like to learn more about a particular subject or perhaps sail a different craft?  Sea Safaris Sailing School by BE-Nautical arranges “field trips” for interested students to learn, for example, more about sailing a Great Lakes Schooner.  Visit the “Contact Us” link on our page and we’ll add you to our mailing list for upcoming events.

Time for Sail – Our sailing programs are taught during the day, evening, weekend or our popular 4 day “On Safaris” format where you stay aboard the boat as we sail to exciting ports of call.
