Advanced Coastal Passage Making (ASA 106) – Tuition: US$2,695
BVI/Sint Marteen – Sailing from Tortola to North Sound, Virgin Gorda to Sint Marteen back to Tortola.

Advanced Coastal Passage Making is a 6 day/5 night course that challenges those students who have taken Basic Keelboat and Live Aboard Cruising or have the equivalent qualifications. Everything you learned from the aforementioned courses is put to use along with new skills you master through this course. Some of these skills include night time* approaches to anchorages, full on navigation, lights at night, standing watches, proper customs and immigration procedures, and all of the safety items one must know when sailing out of sight of land.

Students will be able to skipper and navigate a sailing vessel in coastal and inland waters, in any conditions, day or night*. Gain knowledge of sail theory and steering forces, advanced sail control, weather prediction using clouds and instruments, boat systems maintenance, heavy weather precautions, safety and seamanship.
